Dr Sonia Alam is a Specialist Prosthodontist with extensive experience in restorative and aesthetic dentistry. She is known for her meticulous approach and commitment to delivering high-quality dentistry that combines clinical excellence with natural-looking aesthetic results. Her aim is always to provide comfortable, long-lasting treatment tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
Dr Alam qualified in dentistry from King’s College London in 2007 and has worked in both general dental practice and hospital settings. She later completed specialist postgraduate training in Prosthodontics, obtaining a Master’s in Clinical Dentistry from King’s College London in 2014 and gaining Membership in Prosthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She is now a General Dental Council registered specialist in Prosthodontics.
Her clinical interests focus on restoring complex dental problems and creating natural, confident smiles. Dr Alam regularly treats patients requiring replacement of missing teeth using implants, bridges and dentures, and also manages challenging restorative cases including tooth wear and failing dental work. She is experienced in planning and delivering complex multidisciplinary treatments designed to restore both function and aesthetics.
Dr Alam is passionate about ensuring patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their treatment. She takes time to carefully assess each case and develop personalised treatment plans that achieve durable results while preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible.
Research & Teaching
Dr Alam has a strong interest in teaching and academic dentistry. She has taught both undergraduate and postgraduate students and has contributed to teaching programmes at King’s College London and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Her Master’s research has been presented internationally at the International Association of Dental Research General Session in Seattle, reflecting her ongoing involvement in advancing dental knowledge and clinical practice.
Dr Alam also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education and is committed to supporting the development of future dentists through education, mentorship and academic engagement.
