Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Mr Coombes qualified in dentistry and medicine at King’s College London, before specialist training in oral and facial plastic surgery. This took place at a range of UK centres, including the renowned Queen Victoria Hospital in Sussex.
In 2008, Mr Coombes was appointed as a consultant at the Queen Victoria. Helping patients with significant, often complex medical needs, including facial trauma and removing growths caused by oral, or skin cancer.
Throughout this time and in work at other centres, his reconstructive ability stood out. A surgeon who was quickly recognised as a leader in aesthetic surgery, by fellow consultants and patients.
The groundbreaking surgery he carried out in Malta saw Mr Coombes receive a Knighthood of the Order of St John. Gratitude from a country and the residents who benefited from treatment not otherwise possible.
They also enjoyed the way they were treated, with knowledge, patience and great courtesy. Mr Coombes believes that every patient should be respected for the individual they are, his treatment is about their life.
Skills he offers to achieve the aims of patients are shared through membership of professional organisations and by teaching colleagues. Working to improve the standard of reconstructive surgery.
We are pleased to have Mr Coombes at our Harley Street clinic. For the knowledge he brings on advanced facial surgery and more importantly, for the options he brings to patients who wish to change the way they look.
Aspects of aesthetic surgery such as face, or eye lifts may be categorised as cosmetic but are about far more. Confidence is a key part of life and enhancing this through specialist care is a natural right.
